Antarctic Classroom: Duke of Edinburgh Award Integration
Through our partnership with Ocean Youth Academy (OYA), students on the Antarctic Classroom voyage can complete key components of their Duke of Edinburgh Award while learning in one of the most inspiring environments on Earth.

OYA supports both new and existing Award participants. Students beginning their Award journey with us can complete all required sections — Skills, Volunteering, Physical, and their Adventurous Journey or Gold Project (Residential) — with OYA serving as their official Award Centre.

Students already registered with another Award Centre can also have their Skills, Volunteering, Physical, Adventurous Journey, or Gold Project (Residential) formally assessed and signed off during the Antarctic voyage. The Antarctic Classroom offers qualifying opportunities across all sections, with flexibility to tailor activities to each student’s individual needs.

Whether students need full program mentorship or simply official certification for section requirements, OYA provides structured guidance, expert leadership, and meaningful real-world learning every step of the way.

    Program Fees:
$500 USD – Full Award program support for new participants (includes OYA mentorship, activity planning, progress tracking, and certification).
Does not include Duke of Edinburgh Award registration. Students enroll directly through the DofE website; registration fees: Bronze $100, Silver $125, Gold $150.

$250 USD – Expedition certification for students already enrolled with another Award Centre (includes sign-off for one Award section; additional sections may be added for $50 USD each).
